Quentin DUPIEUX
Born in Paris in 1974, Quentin Dupieux is a self-taught filmmaker and musician. He released 12 albums under the name Mr. Oizo and has been active in the music scene. He began making short films in his adolescence and sold the rights to his film to the French television channel Canal Plus at age 19. In 2007, he wrote, shot, edited, and directed his feature debut Steak. His film Rubber (2010) was screened during Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival; Wrong (2012) and Wrong Cops (2013), at the Sundance Film Festival; and Reality (2014), at the Venice International Film Festival. Keep an Eye Out (2018) won the Best Screenplay award at the Sitges Film Festival. He opened the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight with Deerskin (2019), which premiered in Asia at the 2019 Busan International Film Festival and was also released in theaters in South Korea.
